Behind Two Hills

When the sun rests between those branches
to catch its breath,
i’ll ask it to stay longer today
so we can have time
to swim in the lake we found
behind those hills.

before then,
run home and get your white dress
so you have something
dry to change into for the walk back

there is a full moon tonight
so we shouldn’t get lost coming home.
